SSA+S TIGER ATHLETICS

Sarasota School of Arts & Sciences participates in the Gulf Coast League. The Gulf Coast League is a competitive league that includes teams from the Sarasota, Manatee, and Venice areas. The Gulf Coast League is strictly permitted for athletes in grades 6-8. The Gulf Coast League is compiled of 16 area teams which split into 2 conferences, North and South.

Athletic Eligibility

Ø A student must be under the age of 15 to compete in middle school athletics

Ø A student repeating the 8^th grade shall be ineligible for competition

Ø A student must be in regular attendance

Ø A student may not compete if serving an out of school suspension

Ø A student must maintain a 2.0 GPA

Ø All participants must have a HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT, and a STATEMENT OF PARENTAL CONSENT on file in the athletic directors before the first practice

Ø All participants must pass a PHYSICIANS PHYSICAL EXAM and have it on file before the first practice.

Ø A student must be in school a minimum of ½ day of school on a game day
